Inbound mail Quick View but not Inbox and is subsequently LOST!

Problem: mail received but inaccessible

I have 9 email accounts defined in WLM, including one Hotmail (defined
HTTP), a couple Gmail and several POP/SMTP.

On the account I most recently created (a POP/SMTP, let’s call it "AcctX") I
have encountered a problem whereby a new inbound message appears in my Quick
View "Unread email" section and shows that it is in AcctX but does not appear
in the actual Inbox of AcctX. This means that after I read it (thus, it is no
longer "Unread") the message is effectively nowhere, i.e. lost, can no longer
be found/accessed. I have tried deleting and recreating the new AcctX account
as well as one of the old accounts to see if it would effect anything but it
did not.

I was using WLM v2008 build 12.0.1606 when I originally encountered this
problem. I have now upgraded to v2009 build 14.0.8089.0726 to see if it
would fix the problem but it did not.

Please advise.
