Internet Explorer is an embarrassment for Windows. My personal experience tells that every web browser out there that I have tried is better than Internet Explorer. When version 8 of the browser came out, I had high hopes; however there were areas in which 8 fell short of what version had been delivering (version 8 had an interface which was a little too different and many websites faced compatibility issues with Internet Explorer 8).
With the availability of two amazing browsers, Chrome and Firefox, nowadays Internet Explorer is not paid any significant attention by internet users. Now Microsoft plans to revamp their browser and build a version that will compete with today’s leading browsers.
On the second day of MIX10, Microsoft announced that developer could preview the next version of Microsoft’s internet browser (click here) and give their feedback.
The preview is by no means a beta, not even an alpha. The purpose of the release is to obtain developers’ feedback. Like Google does with Chrome, Internet Explorer plans to release regular updates for the browser keeping in view the feedback received.
The most-heard news so far is that the new browser will have great HTML5 support.
I simply hope that Internet Explorer 9 bridges the massive gap between Microsoft’s native web browser and the other free alternative available; if it does not, Internet Explorer 9 will be another browser-failure for Microsoft.
