Mobilewatchers are all a twitter over Sprint’s promise to launch a ‘groundbreaking’ device today and all bets are on the HTC Supersonic.
The Supersonic would be first 4G handset on the company’s WiMAX network, and has specs similar to the HTC Desire in that it’ll be running Android 2.1, with HTC Sense slicked over the top and features a 4.3-inch screen and 1GHz Snapdragon chip.

The difference of course is speed with Sprint’s WiMax touted as 10 times faster than 3G networks.
The launch of the 4G device today would give Sprint a huge shot in the arm as it struggles to keep up US mobile market leaders Verzion and AT&T.
