If you want the best for your computer download Ad-aware (destroys only adwares) or buy it and buy nod32 too… Then NOTHING CAN STOP YOU!!!!!!
Norton is a RAM Hog with poor protection, google it’s reviews. Avast! Home Edition or AVG Free offer much more solid protection and have free licenses.
Pair these up with some good free anti-spywares and you’ve got a solid and secure system.

i know this comment is a little late, but even so, i use spyware doctor and it’s very good, amazingly quick scans with very high detection rates 🙂 you can get it at google. c()m/pack just type in that and then unselect everything but spyware doctor, download then install and you’re good to go 🙂

There’s only one anti-virus… Nod32 by Eset. Norton’s crap and always has been.
Norton is OK, but I prefer Kaspersky/avast.
Why would you need Norton 2005 ?
Norton started to be a great piece of antivirus, once they launched Norton 360. but Norton 2005 kinda sucks =S
Go Avast, its one of the best freeware antivirus software you can get. Whatever you do don’t buy nortons its useless and a waste of space

I use avira, either avira free edition, or avg, also if you search for virus removers if you know the what kind of you have try to only download the symantec or mcafee virus removers and beat the sucker. Of course you could be over reacting and all you need is a simple desktop anti-vir guard, but I prefer avira to avg, but avira has better detection so I use that. Also as a extra; download malware bytes anti-malware. It will save your computer from most forms of malware. Stay safe.

I had a PC with 512 MB of RAM, I was using Norton 2005, I scanned and it found 2 trojans, but didn’t delete them. The next day a friend of mine come, he reccomended downloading Avast!. I did, and before the boot scan, it detected over 100 pieces of malware, on the boot scan it found more 176.
