Unfortunately, that is not what a "Sync" operation does; and the programmers
of Windows Live, in their infinite wisdom (such as it is) saw fit to replace
the "Send/Receive" options with "Sync". All a part of the way they envision
this "cloud computing" world they are trying to create.

Keep looking at those other programs; I really don’t see Windows Live
returning to "Send/Receive". Of course, you will lose your folder
synchronization capability in Hotmail accounts because no other client
natively includes that feature, and POP3 isn’t a synchronizing protocol.
