virus/malware on it. i cleaned it up however I when I try to install Windows
Update I get the error message 0x80070002. i have gone through the process
for that error message on MS webpage and I still get the error message.
When i go into services and try to start Automatic Updates and BITS i get
Could not start the Automatic Updates service on Local Computer.
Error 2: The system cannot find the file specified
and
Could not start the Background Intelligence Transfer Service service on
Local Computer.
Error 2: The system cannot find the file specified.
I have checked for both Automatic Updates and BITS
1) that the local system account is checked on the Logon Tab and made sure
that the "allow service to interact with desktop" is UNchecked.
2) Startup is set to Automatic on the General tab
3) i have tried to start both of them and still get system cannot find the
file specified.
4) renamed the Updates folder to Updates.old and tried to do the updates,
still same problem.
5) i have the windowsupdate.log file, i don’t know if that will help but
