Windows 7 Library allows grouping of multiple folders under on category called as library for e.g music this makes it easy to manage folders. However one thing you may miss out in Windows 7 library is ability to add network locations in Windows 7 Library.
You can add network locations (and any other un-indexed locations), but it must be done programmatically using Microsoft supplied command line utility slutil.exe. To make it easier for you to add network locations to Windows 7 library here is ready made tool Win7 Library Tool.
Features of Win7 Library Tool
1. Add network (UNC or mapped drive) and any other un-indexed folders to libraries.
2. Backup library configuration, such that a saved set of libraries can be instantly restored at any point (like after a re-install of the OS or for transfer between multiple computers).
3. Create a mirror of all libraries (using symbolic links) in [SystemDrive]:\libraries. This means you can reference all your files using a much shorter path, and also provides another entry-point to your files in many places in the Operating System (e.g. file open/save dialogs).
4. Change a library’s icon.
