Coca-Cola remains world’s top brand, Google still moving up!

Interbrand’s Best Global Brands index has been released without changes in the top 5 brads being Coca-Cola, IBM, Microsoft, GE, and Nokia.

McDonald’s managed to move two spots up, coming in the 6th position, followed by Goolge that moved from rank 20 in 2007 to 10 in 2008 to 7 in 2009, will it beat one of the top 5 next year? Hopefully it will ☺

World’s number one sold car Toyota dropped two spots from 6 to 8 this year, the Japanese can manufacturer reported losses for the first time in its history due to the financial crisis, will it drop any further?

Intel has dropped by two spots coming in 9th position, followed by Disney at the 10th after dropping by one. Same brands remained on the top 10, just a mater of a reshuffle.

Looks like the crisis is still pretty active, financial brands seem to suffer these days, citi bank dropped from being 19 last year to spot 36 this year, HSBC dropped by 5 spots coming 32nd. While Visa moved up by six spots from 100 to 94, AmericanExpress dropped from 15 to 22 this year.

So what’s happening in the internet world? Google is leading the way with position number 7 among the Best Global Brands 2009, followed by Amazon, which moved up from 58 to 43, eBay maintaining its rank 46, and Yahoo, despite last year’s troubles, moving up by one spot to 64.
