If you are a fan of both Flickr and Windows 7, this tool is made just for you. It allows you to browser your and other people’s photosets on Flickr without even opening any web browser.
Flickr Driver is a shell extension that creates a virtual drive around the Yahoo Flickr photo web-service. It creates a drive icon under My Computer once it gets installed. Not only can you browse the photos within Windows Explorer, you can also manage them as well. For example, you can edit your photos as if they were just located on your own hard drive, you can drag’n’drop to add photos, you can remove photos if you don’t like them anymore, and you can even search photos with specific tags by adding a Tag Search Folder.
This tool is developed by guys at Viksoe.dk, and currently only works on Windows Vista and Windows 7, 32-bit only though. The installation file is 234kb big and can be downloaded here.
What’s our opinion?
The tool sounds pretty cool and easy to set up and use. However, unless you have a decent Internet connection you won’t be able to enjoy that much.
