I’ve used WMP11 for more than a year with no problems. About a month or two
ago it stopped working. There’s no error messages it just starts to play a
song from my library and, after a few seconds, the sound cuts out. The bar
continues to move across, just no sound. I have no problem playing a disc.
I can stream music and video with sound. I just can’t play anything from my
library. I have files copied to a thumb drive before this started. The same
thing happens when I try to play them. Anything new that I rip or download
does the same thing. I installed another player and there’s no problem with
any of the same files playing complete. I upgraded from Vista 32 to Vista 64
last year. I have both versions of WMP11 and they both do the same thing. I
would prefer to use ’11 for everything and not have another player. Anybody
have any ideas why this happens? I’ve tried both MS and my PC’s OEM for help
but no solution.
