If you have been plugging and unplugging headphones there is a possibility
that the tiny switch inside the headphone jack has broken (I’ve had it
happen on both desktops and one laptop in a school environment.) The switch
is the mute switch for the onboard speakers that gets pushed over when a
plug is inserted to turn off the internal speakers and make contact with the
plug to power the headphones. Not an easy visual check for laptops since
the case has to be opened down to the jack which is normally soldered onto
the motherboard of the computer. Some of them are sealed inside a plastic
case that can’t be opened and the check needs to be done with a meter on the
contacts on the motherboard. Don’t know of any other way to check it
however. If the computer is still under warranty check with Sony. If not,
a good (not big box store) computer repair store should be able to diagnose
and fix if it is in fact a broken switch.

Go the repair shop route if all other means of diagnosing and repair have
failed.
